Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

The Journal of Health Risk and Chronic Disease (JHRCD) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This publication ethics statement is based on the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guideline for editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher involved in the publication process.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on their scholarly merit and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religion, political beliefs, or institutional affiliation.
  • Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author's explicit written consent.
  • Editors should take appropriate action when ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct are identified.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.
  • Reviewers should conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and constructively.
  • Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts when such conflicts exist.
  • Reviewers should report any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or other ethical concerns.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must present accurate and original research findings.
  • Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original and properly cite the work of others.
  • Plagiarism in all forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  • Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.
  • Authors should not publish redundant or duplicate manuscripts describing substantially the same research.
  • All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors.
  • Authors must disclose any financial support, funding sources, or potential conflicts of interest.
  • Authors must promptly notify the editor if a significant error is discovered in their published work.

Research Involving Human Participants

Research involving human participants must comply with recognized ethical standards and applicable regulations. Authors should indicate that ethical approval has been obtained from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board. Informed consent should be obtained from participants whenever applicable.

Research Integrity

  • Data fabrication and falsification are strictly prohibited.
  • Image manipulation that misrepresents research findings is unacceptable.
  • Authors should retain research data and provide access upon reasonable request.
  • Any suspected misconduct will be investigated according to established ethical procedures.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the evaluation, interpretation, or publication of research findings.

Corrections and Retractions

When significant errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct are identified, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher of JHRCD supports the editorial team in maintaining academic integrity and ethical publishing practices. The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions and is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of published content.
