Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The Journal of Health Risk and Chronic Disease (JHRCD) employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, scientific validity, and relevance of all manuscripts submitted for publication. In the double-blind review system, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.

All submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on their scientific merit, methodological quality, originality, ethical standards, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope.

Review Procedure

Step 1. Initial Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system.

Step 2. Editorial Screening
The Editorial Office conducts an initial assessment to evaluate the manuscript's compliance with the journal's scope, formatting requirements, ethical standards, and originality.

Step 3. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of similarity may be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

Step 4. Assignment to Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area.

Step 5. Double-Blind Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, scientific quality, methodology, interpretation of results, significance of findings, and overall contribution to the field.

Step 6. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers' recommendations, the Editor may make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Major revisions required
  • Reject

Step 7. Author Revision
Authors are requested to revise the manuscript and submit a response to reviewers' comments within the specified revision period.

Step 8. Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection after considering reviewers' comments and authors' revisions.

Step 9. Copyediting and Publication
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and final approval before publication.
